Day 2: This will be followed on day two by traversing the Caledonian Canal on bike, following part of a route that cuts straight through the entire country along the banks of a number of lochs, including the world-famous Loch Ness. (Distance 60km / Ascent 660m / Descent 660m)

Day 3: Day three will see you taking to the waters of the Loch Ness and crossing to its southern bank, immersing you in an environment that has inspired centuries of legends. (Distance 12km)

Following the completion of paddling on day 3 you will be taken back to your vehicle at the start of the adventure.

When & Where

Your adventure will begin at 9am on the first day, please make sure you there on time! We aim to be finished by 4pm on the final day. Please be aware that this return time can be subject to change, but we will do our best to make it happen.

We will be meeting at North Face Carpark, Fort William. our car will remain here for the full 3 days, the carpark is safe and secluded but can get busy with fellow mountaineers. Please take care of the ditches surrounding the carpark, they have claimed many a vehicle, including this one which we saw last year...

Everything Else

Food

We know how important this is. We will be providing healthy and delicious meals and snacks for the duration of your adventure. Please ensure that you let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies (you should have done so in the form you already filled out). If you need to send us additional info please do contact us ASAP (button at the bottom of this page).

Camping

All of our campsites are official campsites with toilets and showers. When you arrive, your tent should be up and ready for you with your bag/personal belongings waiting for you in there. Our campsites are almost always fairly remote so are unlikely to have access to local shops and restaurants.

Personal Equipment

Up 4 Adventure UK can provide you with all of the technical equipment that you need for your adventure. All you need to bring are the items on this Kit List plus any personal home comforts you might want! Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the safety or transporting client’s bicycles so we very strongly advise that you use one of our superb Whyte hard tail bicycles. If you would still like to bring your own bike, please do let us know.

Phone/Powerbank

Phones are a big part of most peoples lives now, we get it. If you would like to bring your phone along so to take photos and or stay in touch with civilisation, you are very welcome. We provide you with a powerbank so you can keep it charged throughout the adventure. We don't have an infinite supply though, so best to keep the phone in airplane mode when not using it for pics!

Support Driver

All of our adventures are accompanied by a support driver. Their job is to meet you at checkpoints with water refills, snacks and lunch as well as setting up the camp in time for your arrival. If absolutely required they can also provide transport assistance, but we would prefer that this is only in the case of emergencies. Our guides understand that you may need some assistance and that is exactly what they are there for!

Bad Weather

The UK is famed for its beautiful and consistent weather, however, on occasion it has been known for the conditions to turn against us. We are able to continue in all but the most extreme of weather conditions. Most of the time this can be predicted, and measures taken to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, unfortunately this isn’t always the case. If there is any concern for the safety of the group, it is possible that the guide may stop proceedings. If at any time an adventure needs to be postponed or cancelled, we will contact you immediately with a range of alternative options.

Please remember if you still have any questions our FAQ page can be found on our website (button below), or you can contact us at any time (button also below).

Final Checks

A member of our team will make contact with you in the final days before this adventure, just to touch base and check all is well!

Thanks and we are really excited to see show you a great time!
