Intro
Join us for a 5 day outdoor leadership residential course on the beautiful Isle of Man. Immerse yourself in a whole range of outdoor adventures and learn to lead a group of your peers, while dynamically assessing the risks involved, honing your skills and having a lot of fun.
This residential course will equip you with the skills to lead in a range of environments as well as learning how to stretch your comfort zone! You will learn how to manage yourself and others using techniques that have a broad range of applications throughout life. Fully accredited by the Duke of Edinburgh Award and run by qualified, experienced staff.
Programme
Day 01
11.15am: Depart Liverpool Albert docks on 'Manannan' high speed catamaran.
2pm: Arrive in the Isle Of Man
3pm: Catch the Manx Railway Electric Tram to 'Lewiague'
4pm: Arrive at the accommodation, set camp and intro/welcome chat.
6pm: Dinner
7pm: Risk assessment theory and coastal walk

Travel
Getting to the Isle Of Man will be a great part of your adventure! You will book your ticket onto the 'Manannan' high-speed catamaran, which departs Liverpool at 11.15am on day 01 and arrives onto the island for 2pm. From there you will catch the Manx Electric Tram to 'Lewaigue', literally to the doorstep of your coastal accommodation for the week! On the final day (day 05) you will jump back onto the tram bound for Douglas, in time for you to catch the Manannan back to Liverpool, arriving at 6pm. Liverpool Albert Docks, which is well serviced by foot, car and train!
You will be in a Whatsapp group with us and all other participants, with us on hand to help make sure you get on the correct ferry and tram - it's very easy and part of the learning process!
Food
Up 4 Adventure UK will provide all breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the duration of the residential. You should bring snacks (or money for them) with you. We can run you to a supermarket if needed, no worries.
Accommodation
We will be staying in a local, independent campsite, with exclusive use of indoor kitchen, dining room and function area. The site has hot showers and toilets.
Personal Equipment
Up 4 Adventure UK can provide you with all of the technical equipment that you need for your adventure. We will send you a kit list for personal clothing, but there's nothing in there that you shouldn't already have!
Phone/Powerbank
Phones are a big part of most peoples lives now, we get it. If you would like to bring your phone along to take photos and or stay in touch with civilisation, you are very welcome.
